DDing an old Baja Bug.
Loud, old, slow, probably won’t start 1/2 the time. It seems like a fun time.

Aren’t Baja Bugs hacked together any ways no matter how good condition they are.

I would, but i also only have 4km to work, so if it craps out it’s not a long walk to get a trailer to get it back home again..

These guys sell EFI kits, so it COULD start every time if you fit one of those?

Do you mean no heat in the sense that the heater doesn’t work very well? Unless it was removed, didn’t Beetles always have heat exchangers
from exhaust air or cooling ducts from the engine cooling air
to heat the cabin? (I don’t know which classic Beetles used, I just know the classic FIAT 500 and FIAT 126 vented the engine cooling air into the interior for heating).

Stock Beatle heaters did not work very well, but Baja Bugs never have stock exhausts, so odds are the bad heater has been removed.

Also yes.

many air cooled exhaust headers do away with the heat exchangers used for cabin heating. a more passionate vw nut might be able to tell that from the pictures, but not me.

Ah, so they used exhaust heat exchangers like the 2CV then.

Ah, cool. Score one for classic FIAT 500s and FIAT 126s then! :D
They were also air-cooled, but their cabin heat came from the cooling ducting/shroud around the engine, so you can fit whatever exhaust you want and still have cabin heat :P
This is the flywheel side facing the front of the car - exhaust on the left and the duct for interior heat is above it there. The other duct on the far right with the cooling fan is the intake which was also ducted from the side vents on the car.

Daily Aircooled sounds a lot better than it actually is. Great f or fun or wrenching- terrible for running like an appliance.
